Dogs are One of the highlights this spring is the The Otter Creek Horse Trial and CIC*/** May 21-23 Friday=Dressage 8:00 -5:00 Saturday= Cross Country 9:00 - 5:00 Sunday= Stadium Jumping 9:00 - 4:00 What is a CIC (translated Competition International Combined)? A CIC is part of the qualification system required of upper level riders aspiring to ride in International three day events. It is one of only two events in Area IV (Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and Wisconsin) and is a qualifying event for the areas Young Riders hoping to compete at the National Young Rider Championship. The two levels offered at Otter Creek is a CIC1* and CIC2*. The courses used for the CIC*/** is slightly different from the Preliminary (CIC*) and Intermediate (CIC**) courses, asking a few more questions to test horses and riders competence at that level. A Horse Trial is a National competition governed by USEF and USEA. Levels start at Beginner Novice up to Advanced. We are proud to host Beginner Novice, Novice, Training, Preliminary and Intermediate at Otter Creek. |
